Four years ago, Michael Joy came home to find that his dogs got loose from his home in Georgia. After some time two of his pups returned home, but he still could not find his last puppy four-month-old Sam.
Micheal Says “I drove around the neighborhood I went to local shelters. I was looking for him hard,”
Because Michael was in the army him and his family moved around a lot. This time it was time to move from Georgia to Kentucky. Michael says he still never gave up hope on finding his long-lost Sam. Even after moving to Kentucky Michael came back to Georgia many times still looking for his dog.
Time going by life changed for Michael and his family. Michael officially retired from the Army and was done with moving. The family also got new dogs and even got another dog named Sam.
Come to find out the original Sam had been found. He was not in Georgia, or in Kentucky. He was in Ohio three states away from where the Joy family was currently living. Michael then got a call from City Dogs Cleveland a animal shelter that had found the long-lost Sam. An employee told Michael the shelter had his missing Dog.
“I was like Sam, I’m looking at him, no you don’t and why would he be in Cleveland,” Joy said thinking about the new dog.
“They were like no, no we have your dog,” said Michael, “I was like can you tell me what he looks like; and he says a lighter hair and soon as they said lighter hair dog, I’m like I’m coming there right now,” said Michael.
The family drove from Clarksville to Cleveland to bring Sam home. Michael says getting his dogs microchipped was the best money spent.
