A 26-foot-long peanut has rolled into Nashville. This giant peanut on wheels is one of three that can be seen driving around the country. Driven by Shannon Hope she says that the job of driving this unique vehicle is taken very seriously. Hope and the drivers of the other two Nutmobiles were all trained by the local police department in Wisconsin. This training could prove very handy seeing as this tour the nut team is on is for an entire year. The outside of the Nutmobile itself is made from pool noodles covered in fiberglass. Making its unique design as unique as its construction.
Because of the pandemic the usual routine of how things are done has been switched up. Normally the Nutmoblie would be at fairs and festivals but this year Hope says they are focusing on community. They have volunteered their time doing things for local communities that have really made a difference. Things like volunteering at food banks, senior centers, and nursing homes.
The inside of the Nutmobile is as interesting as the outside of it. To start there is closet with more than 400 hundred pounds in it at all times. There is also a complete timeline of the evolution of Mr. Peanut. Starting back in 1919, all the way to present day. The dashboard is even in the shape of a peanut.
If you would like to catch up with this nutty team you can see them this Saturday March 27. They will be at the Kroger on 3410 Gallatin Pike. They will be there from 10a.m. till 1 p.m. They will also be at the Kroger located at 711 Gallatin Ave 2 p.m.– 5 p.m.
